Abi's Place is a family-oriented, non-profit school for children with moderate to severe developmental disabilities. We use a functional life skills curriculum to teach our children to express themselves, interact with others, explore their environment, and perform daily living skills. Our school creates a smaller world for exceptional children in order to prepare them for the bigger world ahead.
Our mission is to provide a safe, stimulating learning environment to medically-fragile children with moderate to severe developmental delays. Teachers, therapists, and parents collaborate to develop a personalized education plan to accommodate each child's documented needs in the following areas: language, fine motor, gross motor, social interaction, and self help skills. Each goal is addressed using research-based instructional strategies, proper equipment, and assistive technology. We pride ourselves on fostering unique social interactions, allowing children with special needs to thrive.
